The Agriculture Cluster Development Project (ACDP) has been awarded the best Visionary Government project of the year 2020 at the annual Visionaries of Uganda Award ceremonies, for their outstanding contribution towards helping Uganda achieve Middle income goal and vision 2040.
The ACDP, declared effective on January 23, 2017, is a partnership project of the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries and the World Bank, financed by the International Development Assistance (IDA) of the World Bank. Its main objective is to raise on-farm productivity, production, and marketable volumes of selected agricultural commodities like maize, beans, rice, cassava and coffee, spanning over 57 districts.
The Awards were presided over by H.E Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi the Vice President of Uganda under the theme “Celebrating Dynamic Leadership and strengthening of Fundamentals of the Economy to realize Uganda’s Vision 2040”
Visionaries of Uganda has been organizing the annual Visionaries of Uganda Awards Ceremony for the past seven (7) years to high light achievements and progress of the government institutions, organizations and the private sector. The Awards are meant to encourage quality products, service delivery and positive competition which act as a bridge to socio-economic development.
The Awards boost the Profiles of organizations whose innovative efforts have impacted on the lives of millions of people and increased social economic transformation of Uganda.
