 Background  

The project is a regional COMESA project designed to support COMESA’s common Agricultural Policy and the regional integration agenda. The project also supports NEPAD’s framework for Agricultural development in Africa. 
 
Technical Description
 
The project’s support is to be focused on providing investmentsin Agricultural marketing information and controlling the spread of plant and animal diseases through support for the harmonization of SPS measures.
 
Objectives
  • To establish a Food and Agricultural Marketing Information System (FAMIS) for enhancing safe intra and extra – COMESA Agricultural marketing.
  • To support policy initiatives for increased agricultural productivity and regional investment opportunities.
